ArtDesign3[6]5 is a daily, reflective exploration of creativity and recontextualization.

Utilizing an array of raw materials I’ve collected for decades, I spent one year of daily discipline creating one new piece a day. By free-associating with these forgotten materials, I could express who I was at that moment, and perhaps better understand what shapes us as human beings. As the possessive connection I had to these physical objects was released, hidden meanings were revealed to me. In creating a year-long visual fabric of collected objects, these everyday items became magical, dramatic, humorous signposts that the unconscious could use for direction.

The project was started on my 35th birthday and stretched for 365 consecutive days, from July 16, 2009 to July 15th, 2010. 365 pieces of mixed media on 4” x 4” balsa wood panels. Each day a new piece was completed scanned and posted online for public viewing as part of the release process at www.artdesign365.blogspot.com

ArtDesign3[6]5 was installed in its entirety at Wallspace Gallery in June of 2012. Each of the 365 pieces are individually for sale and can be viewed here – please contact Wallspace Gallery for more information.
